The Pirate! Code
Pirate! Promotion and Management strives to be the best independent music marketing service. Pirate! services college and non-commercial radio stations across the United States and Canada to gain airplay for our artists. Pirate! also provides management services for selected clients.

THE PIRATE! CODE:
• We strive to match the passion and drive of our artists, labels, and clients.
• We take our artist’s careers as seriously as they do.
• We maximize our artist’s efforts by providing services above and beyond a typical “radio campaign”.
• We guarantee that all work performed by Pirate! and in conjunction with our artists will be carried out with individual care, attention to detail, and enthusiasm in order to provide a truly meaningful service.

WHO IS PIRATE!:
Doug Blake and Steve Theo formed Pirate! based on a dozen years of cumulative music industry experience. Doug Blake spent four years running the radio department at The Planetary Group in Boston, MA, previously was a DJ and Music Director of WVGS in Georgia, and currently hosts his own original radio program on WRBB in Boston. Steve Theo also spent many years in the radio department at The Planetary Group, previously ran the College/Metal radio department at Columbia Records, was a DJ and Music Director at WBTY in Massachusetts, and still spins records for WFNX in Boston. Collectively Doug and Steve have obtained the coveted #1 position on CMJ (College Music Journal) for several artists, including Bad Religion, Tom Waits, Elvis Costello, Nick Cave, De La Soul, Ween, and more. Over 30 artists have broken the Top 5 on the CMJ charts with the help of Pirate! team members. However, Doug and Steve formed Pirate! because chart numbers are not the only important aspect of radio promotion. Pirate! provides a new spin on promotion and artist development that traditional promotion companies do not provide.

WHY PIRATE!:
Unlike our competition, Pirate! limits its client list in order to provide individual, detailed, and personal service. This means that we will be able to focus more on your artists instead of spreading our efforts over dozens of clients. Each artist that Pirate! works with will have a personalized plan set for them and we will work together to achieve those goals.

PIRATE! ADDITIONS:
Pirate! is pleased to announce the addition of Ms. Bethany Pickard to the mix. We have been planning on bringing Bethany in since the early days of Pirate! and we are extremely excited that the day has finally come. Bethany comes to Pirate! from KUGS in Bellingham WA where she spent the past 3 years on the ones and twos, and the past year as Music Director. Bethany grew up in Bremerton WA, but aspires to become a true Bostonian. First goal, learn how to use the “T” and find the “yellow line” (yes, it’s cruel, but she needs to learn somehow). At Western Washington University she ate potato burritos, tried to escape the constant scent of patchouli, majored in communication and minored in English lit. When we threw away her CD collection and replaced it with Pirate! priority CDs only she was listening to Fatal Flying Guilloteens, Mclusky, Harvey Danger, The Red Light Sting, The Magnetic Fields, The Thermals, United State of Electronica, Kane Hodder.
